It’s the racing game for PlayStation: Gran Turismo! Since the first part of the saga was published in 1997 (in Europe from 1998), the Gran Turismo series has been one of the most popular racing games worldwide. Almost incidentally, Gran Turismo also co-founded the JDM scene (Japanese Domestic Market) in Europe thanks to its extreme variety of cars.
In addition to the almost endless car selection, which reached its peak in Gran Turismo 6 with an unbelievable 1247 cars, the series inspired from the start with great graphics for the respective time, a simulator-like driving experience and a captivating career mode.
Gran Turismo has existed for every PlayStation generation. The last title “Gran Turismo Sport” for the PlayStation 4 was released in October 2017 – with a much smaller selection of cars and without a real career mode. Gran Turismo is back after four and a half years, just in time for its 25th anniversary!
Gran Turismo 7 should again put a stronger focus on the solo mode and bring back the typical Gran Turismo feeling popular with fans. The 424 cars come from all classes and brands, including models from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Co. There are also 34 tracks in 90 different layouts to choose from. The new GT7 clearly trumps its predecessor Gran Turismo Sport, but is still a long way from the huge car selection in GT6.
