Stöckl-Approved is written on the B-pillar of every Mercedes G-Class. After all, people in Stuttgart are proud that the in-house off-road legend can handle the Austrian hardcore off-road track. Because most G-Classes tend to spend their lives on level asphalt, H&R now offers adjustable lowering springs for the angular Benz.
The sport springs are height-adjustable and allow variable lowering between 20 and 40 millimeters on the front axle and between 15 and 35 millimeters on the rear axle. The payload remains at the standard level even after the springs have been installed. In return, steering and rolling behavior should benefit from the lowered center of gravity. H&R promises that the driving comfort should remain the same through the combination with the standard shock absorbers. Off-road driving should still be possible, although there are certain restrictions due to the lower ground clearance.
In addition to the sport springs, H&R also has wheel spacers from 20 millimeters per axle for the G-Class in its range. As a result, standard and retrofit rims sit optimally in the wheel arch, as the AMG G 63 demonstrates in the pictures. Both track plates and sport springs are available for all G-Class models including the AMG version, both for vehicles with and without the optional adjustable damping.
The prices for the springs are 1081.71 euros, the track plates start at 123.91 euros. The Mercedes G-Class is available from 104,577.20 euros, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 costs at least 162,702.75 euros. Attention: Due to the chip crisis and the high demand, there is currently an order freeze for the G-Class. Interested parties should therefore look around on the used car market.
