The best beaches in the world 2022

After 2021 was also a challenging (travel) year due to corona, many of us are looking forward to new travel happiness this year. / The best beaches in the world 2022

If you don’t know where to go and you’re a beach lover, this ranking could be an inspiration for you: Tripadvisor has evaluated the testimonials of millions of holidaymakers and, based on this, identified the world’s most popular beaches.

Among the 25 best beaches in the world 2022 according to Tripadvisor there are many far away island paradises, but with Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece there are also four dream beaches in Europe. One of them even made it into the top 10.

This is how the best beaches in the world were determined

The ranking is based on millions of reviews and testimonials from travelers on Tripadvisor. Since both the number and the quality of the ratings were relevant for the ranking, there are of course no insider tips. Lesser-known and therefore less-visited beaches are often not taken into account when it comes to the number of ratings. Nevertheless: The ranking shows which beaches are popular and leave enthusiastic visitors despite their popularity.

The top 10 best beaches in the world

1. Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands

“An absolute idyll. Golden sands next to crystal clear waters with gentle waves – perfect for a postcard.”: This is the verdict of a Tripadvisor user of Grace Bay. Other users praise the quiet location with beautiful hotels, the beach is not “overcrowded and overbuilt”, and is also very suitable for families and for relaxation. The long beach is also a great place to go for a walk.

2. Varadero Beach, Cuba

“Just picturesque. I’ve never seen such blue water and such powdery white sand,” writes one user of Varadero Beach in northern Cuba. Varadero’s beach is among the cleanest in the world and is over 20 kilometers long.

3. Turquoise Bay, Exmouth, Australia

When you look at the photo, it’s immediately clear why this beach in Exmouth on Australia’s west coast is called Turquoise Bay. The ratings of the visitors on Tripadvisor are correspondingly enthusiastic. As one writes: “The beauty of this beach cannot be put into words. Long stretches of white sand beach and crystal clear blue water. Excellent snorkeling for beginners and intermediates.”

4. Quarta Praia, Morro de Sao Paulo, Brazil

“Warm water with fantastic views! When the sea calms down, it forms fantastic natural pools. When visiting Morro de São Paolo, this beach is a must,” writes a Trpadvisor user. No wonder that the Brazilian dream beach makes it into the top 5 best beaches in the world.

5. Eagle Beach, Palm/Eagle Beach, Aruba

5th place goes to Eagle Beach on the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba in 2022. Although the beach is not an insider tip, visitors write in their reviews because it is on a long hotel mile, but a visit is definitely recommended. It continues: “The calm, pristine waters are beautifully clear and there are no rocks or seaweed. The beach is endless.”

6. Radhanagar Beach, Havelock Island, India

The beach on the Indian island of Havelock is a popular travel destination not only for Tripadvisor users, but also for the Indians themselves. A user on Tripadvisor advises visiting the “dream beach with a jungle backdrop” in the morning or late afternoon, because then you have it almost to yourself. Another user praised the beach in the highest tones: “Wonderfully clear, turquoise blue water, mangrove forests in the background, pristine white sandy beaches and the water is not too deep … a paradise!”

7. Baia do Sancho, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil

A wide, crescent-shaped bay with light sand and turquoise water, framed by spectacular rock formations and lush greenery – anyone who looks at photos of the Baía (sometimes: Praia) do Sancho can already guess why the beach inspires its visitors so much. Those who were lucky enough to experience the remote bay on the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha live raved in their reviews on Tripadvisor: “It doesn’t get much nicer,” writes one. “The most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to,” says another. It continues: “A beautiful, secluded beach accessible only by ladders and a few stone steps down. The majestic cliffs are truly breathtaking.” Incidentally, in 2020 and 2019, Baía do Soncho was ranked number 1 among the most beautiful beaches in the world according to Tripadvisor.

8. Trunk Bay Beach, St John, Virgin Islands

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world is on St. John: Trunk Bay or Trunk Beach. It belongs to the national park, so it costs two dollars per person “entrance”, which is extremely worthwhile. The dream beach stretches almost endlessly in front of the hinterland with its mountains and dense tropical forests. A Tripadvisor user writes about the Caribbean paradise: “Fantastic snorkeling with lobsters, tarpons, squid, sea turtles and a beautiful beach with a magnificent sunset.”

9. Baia dos Golfinhos, Brazil

9th place in the ranking of the most beautiful beaches in the world goes to the Baía dos Golfinhos in Praia da Pipa in Brazil. Those who visit this beach have a good chance of seeing dolphins, according to Tripadvisor visitors. One writes enthusiastically: “I was in the warm water for about an hour. The dolphins swam past me several times. The next two at a distance of about two meters. Great.” It goes on to say, “No matter when you come here, you always see dolphins! But the landscape itself is breathtaking.”

10. Spiaggia dei Conigli, Lampedusa, Italy

At sunset you can see rabbits at the Spiaggia dei conigli – and these probably gave the beach its name. Tripadvisor users also mention the turquoise blue water and the good connection by bus.
